Role description-

  • Establish contact with the authorities to be informed as well as operators of supply and traffic facilities that will be affected by the planned construction measures (only for construction control of pipes and cables).
  • Determining the access routes with the involvement of the contractor and the owners. Record the condition of the access roads. Determine boundaries and signage, prepare route plans.
  • Notify the owners or leaseholders and operators of facilities in the construction site area immediately before the start of construction.
  • Observing the requirements of authorities and public agencies Checking the completeness of the project documents available to him in cooperation with the project manager.
  • Coordinating deadlines and coordinating the shutdown requirements.
  • Checking compliance with the schedules and construction schedules as well as the stripping plans.
  • Specifying and coordinating the construction processes for the following day with all partners involved. 
  • Checking compliance with the relevant safety regulations as part of general inspection activities.
  • Influencing external companies up to and including interrupting work in the event of obvious violations of occupational safety, if possible in coordination with the project manager.
  • Checking the construction work with regard to occupational safety and environmental protection, compliance with accident prevention regulations.
  • Influencing external companies to maintain general order on the construction site.
  • Accepting stripping requests.
  • Participating in the preparation and execution of interim and final acceptance tests in cooperation with the project manager and the site inspector.

Responsibilities-

  • The Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing all contractor work to ensure the successful manufacture, installation and commissioning of the substation.
  • Advise and support the project management team.
  • Ensure timely and within the required quality standards and HSE regulations.
  • Claim management (e.g. in the event of damage, complaints, etc.).
  • Interface to the test groups, ensuring the implementation of the required measures, complete functional tests, coordination with operational planning and test groups.
  • Document management (test reports, test protocols, delivery bills, etc.).
  • Confirmation of construction diaries etc. to external companies.
  • Reporting to the extent specified in the project.

Requirements-

  • Fluent German
  • Experience overseeing contractor work for the construction of onshore substations
  • Experience working on onshore transmission projects in Germany
